What: Trash to Treasures Three Day: Coiled Baskets with Recycled Materials
Students
will learn to start, form, and build a coiled basketry structure; and how to
incorporate objects of various shapes and sizes into their coiled piece. There
will be a slide presentation of artwork made from discarded materials,
underlying environmental issues, the instructor’s and other artists’ work;
including basket structures other than coiling. Use of color, choice of
materials, and 3-d composition will be discussed. Waxed linen thread in many
colors and weights, wire, and other materials will be available.
Skill
level: Beginner – no previous experience needed.
